After leaving Silverstone in 2009 I didn't think I would see any F1 action there for a long time. So I was really excited when Donnington lost the contract and heard it would be returning to Silverstone after all! For me the weekend started on Thursday morning at the train station. But it only really kicked off on Saturday after quali. After 2 days of glorious sunshine I was a bit parched so we strolled down to the beer tent to find half an RB2 there. Turned out Red Bull were throwing us a party! So we signed up and had a go at changing a wheel against the clock. Let's just say Deep Throat's job is not in any danger! After that DC turned up with Daniel Ricciardo for a short Q&A session which was good fun and then we headed back to the tent.

In the morning we woke up to find a little gift; 4 cans of Red Bull. Just what was needed to get us out of bed! Because we only had general entry we were up savagely early and still found that there were a lot of people already there. However we spied a small gap at the front by Copse and went for it. At risk of losing our spot if we moved we ended up watching all of the racing before the main event, by which point the tension was really building.

5 lights came on and the race was on. It didn't take long to go wrong though and we thought Sebastian was out of the running completely when he didn't come around in the pack. Meanwhile Mark was making a break and pulling away from Hamilton. Spent the next few laps wishing for a safety car and it came true after Liuzzi nudged Pedro and his car disintergrated! Watching Vettel come back through the field was brilliant to see and he eventually managed to pip Sutil on the penultimate lap for 7th. And of course we can't forget Mark's fantastic drive either. He was in a different postcode to the McLarens. After the race there was a football match on apparently? Wasn't sure I could handle any more excitement!

Big thank you to Red Bull for the entertainment on Saturday, a team that knows how to look after their fans!

Did you take part in the wheel challenge? What was your time? :P My apologies on blaming Liuzzi there, my eyesight is not so good! ;)

Sounds like you had a great time. We went to the DC/Dan roadshow too, very funny, of course! Btw, as a Liuzzi fan, just want to say, it was actually Sutil that drove into the back of Pedro.
