It’s back and in the Kingdom Of Bahrain, the engines revved up and the drivers fired up in their minds. One goal for each driver:BECOME WORLD CHAMPION.During winter testing, we thought that the top four went in this order : Ferrari, Red Bull Racing, McLaren Mercedes and Mercedes GP. Qualifying though tells us a different story. Both Ferraris and Red Bulls went head to head for pole positon, while Mclarens struggled and the Mercedes of Michael Schumacher was outshadowed by Nico Rosberg. Q1 saw off the new teams and their drivers including Karun Chandok and Jaime Alguersuari. While Virgin Racing had more woes with their reliability issues. Both Lotus drivers met their ends during Q3 too. Meanwhile Alonso set the pace in the first session with the time of 1:54.612 . During Q2, the championship contenders once again set the pace but this time with Sebastian Vettel leading the way with a blistering time of 1:53.883 and the midfielders were left behind with Russian Vitaly Petrov, William’s Rubens Barrichello and the Sauber of “madman” Kamui Kobayshi. By this time though, both the McLaren’s of Lewis Hamilton and World Champion Jenson Button start back firing on them with both drivers struggling to find the pace of the car. During all this commotion, Rosberg kept his teammate at bay by posting stunning times over Schumacher. Then we entered Q3: THE TOP 10 SHOOTOUT. With nearly all Formula 1 fans thinking that Ferrari’s Alonso had this pole position wrapped up. There was a teeny little problem: Sebastian Vettel. Vettel reminded us why he was destined to become a World Champion Driver when he pulled out a stunning lap to go fastest overall reminding us of that moment in the Chinese Qualifying of 2009. His teammate Webber was placed in six after making a mistake in the second sector confirmed Christian Horner team prinicipal of Red Bull Racing. Felipe Massa back in the action qualified 2nd while his new teammate qualified a 3rd! Now, that inter-team rivalry is fantastic! Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button will be both placed 4th and 8th respectively while 7 time world champion Schumacher had landed himself 7th while his teammate put himself on 5th. Renault’s Robert Kubica qualified 9th which was a start for the team and Sutil suprised by qualifying 10th.

That is it from me! I hope you have enjoyed the Bahrain Qualifying as much as i did! It is good to have Formula One back! Hear tomorrow from Jenny for the summary of the race!
